Waving goodbye to May
When May won’t quit…
SPARC friends, are we the only ones who have been totally toppled by May 2017? Maybe you could tell by our Living in Lubbock absence, but it has been a wild ride for our team. It seems as if all day-to-day activities speed up by 100%, and involvement with organizations, trainings, conferences, and visits with faculty candidates have us spinning out of control in the month of May, or is that just us?
However, with May in our rear-view mirror (thankfully) our team is looking forward to the quiet summer months where students move back home, the streets clear up, and you can finally try out the newest coffee shops and restaurants without having to wait for hours. Fellows aren’t quite looking for jobs yet, 9/1 placements are settling into their new locations and positions, and everyone can finally take a breath.
So here is what you can expect from Living in Lubbock this summer and the SPARC Team:
TTUHSC Employee Picnic
A Faculty Highlight honoring an outstanding faculty member
Construction development updates on the new building
An insight into the Faculty Wives Club
And local events that you can always find from one of our favorites, Lubbock in the Loop
Not only are these events coming up, but we are offering to take any of our newly hired TTUHSC physicians to get a FREE coffee from our favorite coffee shop, because we love getting to hear about your first few months at TTUHSC, and its always nice to see a friendly face.
So stop by in June, see what we are up to, and enjoy the long hot Lubbock summer, it’s the perfect remedy for a fast-and-furious May.
